As I've mentioned before, I don't do a lot of wedding photography. So when a friend asks me to capture their wedding I'm always very honoured...and this year it happened twice! I have to say that the two weddings I did this year have really sparked a fire in me for this kind of photography. It's a wonderful privilege to be part of such an important time in a couple's life, and the fact that this lovely couple was celebrating in Toronto made it even more fun. We had some struggles with the weather but it all came together in the end. And I swear that these two could be fashion models! Thank you again Ryan and Sarah for having me as your photographer. Wishing you love and happiness as you journey through life as Husband and Wife.
Because they got married at Toronto City hall and had to sign some paperwork prior to the ceremony, this couple decided to do a first look for her parents as well as for each other. No matter where that first look happens it is always such a special moment. I just loved the proud look of the Bride's parents when they saw their Daughter. And nothing can beat the moment when the Bride and Groom see each other for the first time! It always brings a tear to my eye.
What a beautiful setting for the first dance!
I have been photographing this family for the past 3 years, and it has been so fun watching their little ones grow. This year we went to Rockway Gardens, and what an evening we had for it! On such a cold night tonight I love to look back on warmer days. This was such a gorgeous location and a lot of fun for the kids to explore.
I don't do many weddings so I was very honored when Jessica asked me to do the photos for her and Jeff's wedding. Of course I had to say yes, and I'm so glad I did! The love Jessica and Jeff share is the stuff of fairy tales. The coming together of this family just warms my heart and I couldn't be happier that they found each other. They are a remarkable couple who share so much love that you can just see it in the way that they look at each other. It was so much fun to be part of such a special day for them. Wishing both of you a lifetime of happiness!
The pictures of the guys getting ready were done by my second shooter and wonderful friend Katie Anne.
We went to the beautiful Economical Trail area off Riverbend Road to do the wedding party photos. What an amazing spot for such a gorgeous couple!
Everybody smile....and now make a silly face!
And wedding photos aren't complete without everyone being a little bit crazy!
Thank you Jessica and Jeff for choosing me to capture such a special moment in your lives!
Thank you to my friend Katie Anne (Katie Anne Photography) for being my second shooter for this wedding.
This summer I made some time to do some photos of my Husband's side of the family so we could get some pictures with all the kids together. Turns out we got one picture of all the kids together. What a riot that was! Six kids who were 7 and under together in one photo. I definitely had to use all my tricks with this group...but it was worth it!
It's been 4 years since I started my photography business, and I'm still forever in debt to this wonderfully supportive woman for encouraged me to follow my dream. Every year I look forward to capturing some Mom and Daughter photos of this gorgeous duo! They never disappoint with the giggles and fun times! Thank you for once again asking me to capture some of these special years as you watch your little princess grow. Time flies by way too fast.
Okay, it's finally time for me to start getting to all of my blog posts from August until now. ...22 to be exact! I'm going to start off with what I was just up to this weekend with my own little peanut. I had really wanted to do some shots of my daughter blowing snow out of her hands or throwing it in the air but I thought I'd missed my window. By the way...this is best done with fake snow...AKA instant mashed potatoes. I thought I'd have to resort to doing it indoors (and was dreading the mess) but then this beautiful weekend showed up so we went down the street to a little park near my house. What a fun time we had!! Can't wait to look into to planning some sessions like this for clients next November. Kids just LOVE it!
